Taman Ayun Temple
Taman Ayun means is a Beautiful Garden. Located in Mengwi, Taman Ayun Temple is part of UNESCO World Heritage site
In the 17th century, the Mengwi Kingdom (I Gusti Agung Putu, the first king of the Mengwi Kingdom) built this temple as part of royal place of worship ( simply the purpose in the begining when they build this temple is dedicated for the king family) the area of this complex is 100 x 250 meter, this complex still exist until now as a symbol of Bali’s royal heritage.
To make Taman Ayun Temple more attractive for tourist, a small theatre has been added inside the complex where you can learn about its history and Balinese culture.
We’ll spend around one hour exploring the Taman Ayun Temple before stopping for lunch and a short break. Once we finish, we’ll continue our journey to the beautiful Tanah Lot Temple.

Tanah Lot Temple – the famous ocean temple in Bali.
Tanah Lot was built in the 16th century by Dang Hyang Nirartha, He is Hindu priest who traveled to Bali to teach Balinese Hinduism.
Dang Hyang Nirartha established this temple to serve as a place of prayer dedicated to Baruna, the Balinese sea god.”
The name “Tanah Lot” comes from the words “Tanah” (land) and “Lot” (sea), meaning “Land in the Sea.”
